Kendrick Lamar, Trinidad James, Public Enemy Set to Perform at BUKU Music + Art Project in NOLA

BUKU Music + Art Project is a fairly new festival in New Orleans. Premiered in March 2012, BUKU is more of an intimate festival, not like the bigger ones that are Jazz and VooDoo Fest.

This year, BUKU will be held March 8 + 9, 2013 at Mardi Gras World, in the heart of NOLA’S warehouse district, and will feature five stages: The Power Plant (Main Stage): Outdoors, along the Mississippi River with a backdrop of a broken down power plant (I hear it’s dope); The Float Den: (new for 2013) In the warehouse where all the Mardi Gras floats are manufactured; The Ballroom: Indoors, sound-isolated from other stages; The Riverfront: Outdoors, near main stage, turns into late night nu-disco; The S.S. BUKU: VIP-only New Orleans-style riverboat docked alongside the grounds.

This year, there’s such a dope lineup, including some that I’m über ecstatic about: Kid Cudi, Calvin Harris, Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, Public Enemy, Nero, Major Lazer, Trinidad James; And I’m super excited about my locals: Big Freedia, DJs Quickiemart, Shanook, Kid Kamillion, Christoph Anderson, Unicorn Fukr, and DJ Digital! Man. These people alone will rock the entire BUKU house down! Check out the flyer below for the list of performers by day.
